-¡Levántate, Pedrito! Ya amaneció hace rato...
-¡Pero si hoy es domingo!
-No importa, vamos a salir todos.
-¿Por qué?
-Porque vamos a visitar a los abuelos
-¿Por qué?
-Porque queremos verlos y darles un abrazo.
-¿Y por qué?
-¡Ay! deja la preguntadera y apúrate.
¡Listo! Mamá, papá: Está usted quitándole a su hijo la inquietud por conocer "el porqué" de las cosas y los hechos que le rodean. Está matando su curiosidad por develar las relaciones de causa-efecto en todos los campos del diario acontecer. De hecho, inhibiendo en el infante su necesidad de ubicación en el mundo que empieza a percibir y en el cual ya ocupa un lugar. ¿No sería mejor ayudarle en la apropiación de esa realidad, empezando por su propio ser?
De todas las preguntas que manejamos los humanos, la más importante es el eterno ¿Por qué?, Esa misma pregunta que bien ha repetido Pedrito desde su cama. Sin duda es el interrogante que lleva al conocimiento de todo lo que existe y puede existir; el que conduce a entender la vida y saber vivirla. Desde siempre, la pregunta que se le atravesó al hombre de las cavernas cuando empezó a ejercitar el uso de la razón: ¿Por qué siento deseos de comer? ¿Por qué estoy cansado cuando el sol se va y vienen las sombras? ¿Por qué cae el agua del cielo?, ¿Por qué debo vivir en compañía de otros?
Es el reto que se plantea el científico, el investigador, el médico, el maestro. La pregunta que ha permitido la evolución de la humanidad, tal como lo registra la historia y también en lo que ha dejado sin registrar. El mismo interrogante que usted, papá o mamá, se plantea más de una vez cada día, para analizar y resolver los problemas que le salen al paso.
No más limitaciones a las preguntas de los niños. No más pereza al responderles. Antes, mucha paciencia y sabiduría ante sus requerimientos de saber. Por encima de todo, respetar su propósito de indagación y estimular en ellos la pregunta estrella que todos debemos cultivar, en aras de conocer y conocernos más, para vivir y convivir mejor, en armonía con el universo. ¿Por qué?.
